Clutters review in Rolling Stone
A review of the Clutters "T&C" in the new issue of Rolling Stone (Mariah Carey and her boobies are on the cover). Review...
The Woggles Strike Again...
"Who knew a simple step-punch dance move could be so damn entertaining? THE PROFESSOR did. The charged leader of THE WOGGLES led the band through a living history lesson of rock ’n’ roll with an emphasis on the ’60s. Lesson 2: connecting with the crowd. Again, the Professor took the Exit/In throng to school on several occasions by cutting a path straight through the standers all the way to the tables...."

Ranch Happenings Jan 2006
Happy New Year! We ended 2005 on a high-note, with a party at Austin’s Longbranch Inn with John Schooley and His One Man Band Black Joe Lewis, and a naughty burlesque show by Cardinal Cyn and Bonbon Vivant. Although we were a bit sore from drinking the next day, we had a fantastic time and should thank everyone who participated. Props to Westen of the White Ghost Shivers who proved to be a spectacular emcee for the evening.
What’s happening at the Ranch in 2006? Plenty…
Tiger! Tiger! are going on tour with their Atlanta pals, Lust, throughout February. Check our tourdates page for details and see if they are coming to your town! We will also be releasing a Tiger! Tiger! CD Single/EP to coincide with the tour. More news on that coming soon….
Automusik are also gearing up for a busy Spring in ’06, with both an EP and a full-length record planned. The EP will contain remixes of Automusik’s cover of “Hound Dog” by Robbie Hardkiss and Q Burns Abstract Message.
The Woggles loudly welcomed the New Year by modestly blowing every other act (The Troggs, New York Dolls, and Mooney Suzuki) off the stage at Little Steven’s Underground Garage Fest. From what we understand, it was an explosive Woggles’ set, capping off an incredible year of touring, recording, and keeping rock & roll alive. You can check out some video from The Woggles set below, as reported by MSN. The band is taking a few weeks off before hitting the road again with Austin’s SXSW in sight for March.
For those of you in Austin, we’d like to invite you to celebrate the upcoming year with us by coming out to Emo’s on Wednesday, January 11th. We are hosting a FREE SHOW with John Schooley and His One Man Band , Willie Heath Neal and the ferocious White Ghost Shivers . This is one of the first great shows of the year for Austin, and we hope you join us. Again, this is all happening Wednesday, January 11th, around 10pm, for FREE!!!
The Woggles rock Times Square during Little Steven's Underground Garage New Year's Eve show.
Watch it on MSN Video (requires Windows Media player)
Thanks to Webgazelle for the cool new site design...
The Woggles, who are currently on tour all over the UK, have been asked to play Little Steven’s Underground Garage New Year’s Eve Bash with none other than The Troggs and New York Dolls. This is going to be a fantastic way to bring in the New Year, so…if you’re in New York City – check it out.
While the The Woggles are conquering the UK, we’re leaving the states to be manhandled by our other artists. Tiger! Tiger! are planning a tour with their Atlanta pals, Lust, that will take them down South and then out West. The band is touring in support of their upcoming single for “Black Daggers,” which will be available soon… Tour dates are still being confirmed, check out our tour page for updates.
Speaking of Ranch bands bringing in the New Year, our precious White Ghost Shivers are doing just that with their pals The Small Stars. The show is happening December 31, at the Blue Genie art complex (916 Springdale Rd.) in Austin. Advance ticket info can be found right HERE. If you aren’t into buying tickets online, they are also available at Cheapo Discs on Lamar Blvd in Austin.
It’s not exactly New Year’s Eve, but The Clutters are going to be rockin’ Nashville on December 30th. The band aims to tear the roof off of Nashville’s The Basement with Imagine Asians and Harper. Don’t miss it… In addition to their last big show of the year, The Clutters are also finishing up a kickin’ version of “Tainted Love” which will be released on the Stomp! Shout! Scream! Soundtrack! by Chicken Ranch in 2006. Stomp! Shout! Scream!, the movie, was directed and written by Jay Edwards and is a beach-party rock & roll monster-movie and we’re thrilled to be a part of it.
More love for the Clutters ...
(Yes, this record is that good, this album is a daily affirmation of the powers of rock and roll, and one of the best leaps of faith I've taken while running the Ranch.-- Mike D.)
'It's the turn-on-a-dime changes that turned me on the Clutters, and the farfisa kept me tuned in. The retro-garage sound of Nashville's Clutters brings to mind the underground of the ‘60s and the spirit of 1976-77 punk rock. “ Clash City Girl” is one of the best garage songs ever recorded , flat out, no lie; with a song entitled “Rock and Roll”, featuring lyrics like, “drink a t&c, drinkin' wine, drinkin pop, drinkin' wine, drinkin' rock & roll!”, honestly now, how could this not be a phenomenal album? Words cannot do this much more justice; so look, if you like garage and or classic punk rock (and we're talking the early stuff here) this is definitely worth a listen'.- PopCulture Press
“T&C is a garage rocker's dream”- Punk Planet
"If you're looking for a love affair, T&C is your perfect match. Even though it's a debut, it has all of the fun and purity needed, and none of the sloppy commitments"- Being There Mag
"T&C seems to hit every receptive nerve that passes through your ear canals. And it is wonderful"- Whatz Up Magazine
"...T&C makes you sweaty just listening to it..."- Austin Chronicle
"(The Clutters) have without a doubt released one of the best rock records of the year"- Nashville Rage
